As a name synonymous with sound amplification in Great Britain and beyond, Tannoy knows a thing or two about building speakers. The TS10's long-throw 10-inch driver fires downward, while Tannoy's patented high-efficiency amplifier dedicates 300 watts to low frequencies -- more than enough power to reproduce deep music and booming sound effects.

It's all encased in a rigid, closed-box cabinet that minimizes unwanted resonance, with plenty of room for the cone excursion necessary to producing very low frequencies. Plus, Tannoy's included screw-on spiked feet isolate your TS10 from a carpeted floor, and you can invert the spikes to sit flat for use on your wooden floor, eliminating disruptive resonant coupling.

Sub-Specific Electronics

Whether you choose to pair your sub with full-range stereo monitors, or use it as the "point 1" in a 5.1 surround system, the Tannoy TS10 can integrate seamlessly into your setup. When using the XLR inputs with a balanced system, the TS10 also sends out a line-level feed via stereo XLR outputs, for you to plug into the main speaker pair. Toggle the 80 Hz hi-pass filter if you're using smaller main speakers, or go direct to send an unprocessed signal to larger mains.
