Overview
Terratec DMX 6fire LT 6-Channel PCI Card
The SoundSystem DMX 6fire 24/96 series has been expanded. Like its bigger brother, the DMX 6fire LT also masters 6-channel (5.1) audio playback in excellent 24-bit quality. Of course, this also includes full compatibility to audio standards for games, DVD entertainment and music. The DMX 6fire LT offers brilliant sound technology based on the successful EWX/EWS88 technology: 24-bit/96 kHz converters for all inputs and outputs guarantee an absolutely flat frequency response and a signal-to-noise ratio better than -104 dB! The supplied MXR module provides additional connection options. Besides the stereo inputs and outputs for digital devices (optical), the MXR module also features a connection for a microphone.
Sensaura 3D with EAX, A3D, DirectSound or MacroFX are the supported standards of the DMX 6Fire LT and make the system so popular, and not just with gamers. And then there's trouble-free support for software DVD players, AC3 and DTS output via the digital ports, and complete support for all current Windows operating systems from 98 SE to XP with WDM drivers. A broad range of applications will get you started right away: from DVD players to audio editors and a virtual record studio, everything you need for work and play is included in the package.
TerraTec's SoundSystem DMX 6fire LT -the complete sound package that'll make you listen up.

Terratec DMX 6fire LT 6-Channel PCI Card Customer Review
best card for the money . no bullshit
Sound
it is in midiman audiophile range. i get the best results with 48000 24bit. no jitter or it is minimal. for recording i use fine stereo preamp. you cannot plug in anything directly in it.
its also great for surround in home theaters and for listening stereo.
Features
only basic: two ins, six outs (stereo 3.5 mini unfortunately) plus optical in and out and relatively useless mic in on the daughterboard.
great feature is +18db of gain on both ins (and mic in) in 0,5db steps
it also sports direct monitoring feature. drawback is that it has no midi ins outs, but midi is suported on every contemporary mainboard through game port.
Quality
it is a pci card. pristine quality hew
Value
you can get it very cheap. cheaper even then midiman audiophile. midiman revolution is a potentialy better value but i do not have it
Manufacturer Support
i have never needed them. i own it for year and a half.
The Wow Factor
its dicontinued. if it dies i would buy a different card
