Sitka spruce top. African mahogany back and sides.
Overview
There are few rivals for the sheer power of a Jumbo 12-string. Drawing on the richness of African mahogany, the 355 is known for its big body and even bigger voice.
300 Series
Solid African mahogany backs and sides and gloss-finished Sitka spruce tops provide a clear, balanced tone, while wood fiber binding, pearl fretboard inlays, and chrome Taylor tuners streamline the look. The Expression System pickup, now standard on all acoustic electric models, makes the 300 Series a great introduction to premium-quality, American-made, solid wood acoustic guitars.
Woods
Top: Sitka Spruce
Back & sides: African Mahogany
The warm tone and open midrange of African mahogany balances the bright and snappy characteristics of a Sitka spruce top. The resulting combination provides the perfect guitar for strong, rhythmic playing styles.
Shape
Jumbo
The Jumbo delivers the extra-deep resonance and volume that come with a larger sound chamber together with its own signature subtleties. With a huge presence, the Jumbo is perfectly suited for aggressive strumming.
Electronics
None
Inlays
Large pearl dots
Finish
Satin with Gloss Top
The finish used to create this guitar's textured satin back and sides and lustrous gloss top was developed at Taylor for maximum durability and resistance to cold-checking. This ultraviolet-cured finish is also more environmentally friendly than traditional lacquer finishes. Available in natural finish.

"taylor 355 wyoming player"
I've played this lovely guitar for maybe 15 years. The crisp sound, easy playing, booming volume, such easy handling, have made it my all time favorite after 40 years of guit-picking. I paid about $1200 for it, which seemed like a lot at the time, but now seems like chicken feed. Do whatever it takes to capture one of these.
