I have recently purchased a Peavy 24 channel board that also has a burner, so the learning continues! But the Tascam was a nice intro.

Sound
The sound reproduction remains pretty solid. I have read the other reviews, but pound for pound, I think it should be understood that it may have only two leads to record into, but the tracks can be 'bounced' to other tracks, allowing multiple recordability. Also, when our band plays, we can lead the two inputs into a simple P.A. head for full band recording.

Features
I am not a fan of the effects built in, as they seem to lower the volume and do not produce well. Our guitarists have an array of pedals so this was not needed as well. My only real complaint is that there is no back up light to the lcd. This makes it almost impossible to navigate unless I am recording with either a direct light or in the daytime, which as most musicians know, is not our calling hour...lol.

Ease of Use
I will give the ease of use a nine. It is truly plug and play. A new user can spend just ten minutes in the manual and start recording. Tascam is known for it's ease of use and this unit is not an exeption.

Quality
I have never had a problem that I did not create myself in so far as recording. It holds up well and the fact that I can burn directly is a nice feature.

Value
I think the price is reasonable, but read more you have to spend time to learn to use it. It is very functional and practical, but it is important to learn about it.

Manufacturer Support
I have never needed to speak with a Tascam rep to resolve any issues.

The Wow Factor
Small, compact and user friendly.
