The Squier Contemporary Jaguar HH ST brings modern features and bold aesthetics to an iconic Fender platform to satisfy today's most discerning and daring players. The roasted maple neck was chosen for its optimal tone and stability, and a sculpted heel design allows for improved access all the way to the 22nd fret. I don’t leave reviews typically but this guitar deserves a better one. Bought used (blemished doesn’t fit, only marks are on the pick guard) and the action is nice and low, love what each switch provides in terms of contrast.
Sound
The single-coil and parallel switches each provide an almost filtered tone, like it’s more responsive to picking - way fun. Then I can switch back to the humbuckers and lay down power chords like nobody’s business. Neck pickup is pretty dark but malleable.
Features
Least useful: neck pickup. Great with effects, though.Everything else on the guitar works beyond expectation.
Ease of Use
Figuring out the switches is easy enough, the single coil tones are pretty unmissable, I used process of elimination with the series/parallel switch. The in-series humbuckers provide more punch, parallel is nice and clean, almost like single coils but I want to say a little more responsive.
Quality
It’s lightweight but sturdy. Pickup switch is the only slight concern out of the box but seems to work fine with a little glue.
Value
For a Squier…this could maybe be lower priced, but only a little. I also bought used, so take that into consideration.
Manufacturer Support
No manufacturer contact.
The Wow Factor
The series/parallel switch was a brand new feature for me and hasn’t disappointed. The versatility of this instrument at the flip of a little switch is crazy fun. Glad I pulled the trigger on this.
