Flexible Output Interfaces
The CDP-D12 is equipped with multiple output interfaces to meet individual system needs. XLR-type balanced read more and phono unbalanced connectors are provided for analogue outputs, plus coaxial and optical digital outputs are also available.

Variable Playback Speed
The CDP-D12 allows the playback speed to be adjusted within the range of +/-12.5% in 0.5% steps - this enables the duration of the audio program to be adjusted in post-production and on-air applications. The duration of the audio program is displayed according to the adjustment.

Auto-Cue Function
The auto-cue function skips the silent areas at the beginning of an audio track and puts the deck in pause mode. Users can choose the threshold level of the audio to skip from five preset settings: -72 dB, -66 dB, -60 dB, -54 dB, and -48 dB.

Cue-Point Marking
Operators can mark a cue-point to immediately start playback from any desired point.

Various Playback/Repeat Modes
In addition to normal playback, shuffle playback, and program playback modes, power-on play is also available. For each playback mode, three repeat modes are provided: single-track repeat, A-B repeat, and all-track repeat.

Sequential Playback
Sequential playback is available when multiple CDP-D12 players are daisy-chained through the -Relay Play input/output interfaces. When the first CD player reaches its playback end, a control signal is sent to the second player to trigger its playback automatically.

Remote Control via RS-232C and Parallel Ports
The CDP-D12 is equipped with both RS-232C and parallel ports, which allow remote control of the CDP-D12 from another control system, such as an external PC. The mixer-fader-play command is also available through the parallel port.

RM-DS11 Remote Control Unit (Supplied)
The supplied remote control unit allows simple and quick playback control of the CDP-D12 player. Both wired and infrared wireless control is possible. The wired control capability is useful when the CDP-D12 player is installed with other CD players, and it provides comfort that the CD players are operating when putting an audio program to air.

Shock-Resistant Design
For additional reliability, the CDP-D12 player incorporates an ESP (Electronic Shock Protection) function. Using a buffer memory with a capacity of 2.6 seconds, this reduces unwanted track 'skips' caused by external shocks or vibrations.

Versatile Playback
The CDP-D12 player reads audio data stored on CD-R or CD-RW discs as well as conventional CDs. It also accepts both 8 cm and 12 cm CDs without an adaptor.
