The Shure KSM27 is a side-address condenser microphone with a cardioid polar pattern. Designed for studio use, but rugged enough for live applications, the KSM27 has an externally biased, 1 in. diaphragm, extremely low self-noise, and an extended frequency response specially tailored for vocal tracking and instrument recording.

Features

Exceptional low-frequency reproduction

High output level

High input SPL capability

No crossover distortion

Extremely uniform polar response

Superior common mode rejection and suppression of radio frequency read more interference

ShureLock Rubber Isolated Shock Mount

Applications
Voice - solo, background, voice-over, broadcasting

Acoustic instruments - such as piano, guitar, drums, percussion, strings

Electric instruments such as guitar and bass

Wind instruments - brass and woodwind

Low frequency instruments - such as double bass, electric bass, kick drum

Overhead miking - drums or percussion

Ensembles - choral or orchestral

Room ambiance pickup - guitar amplifier or drums

Microphone use, however, is a matter of personal taste. The KSM27 may be used for a variety of applications other than those listed. You may need to experiment with microphone placement and room treatments to achieve the best overall sound for each application.

Very, very nice, you wont get any complains from your clients
Sound
This was my very first profesional mic in my carrer. I honestly say that Shure was never let me down, with a little perspective and good ear you can make recordings to be fluid and crispy, i love this mic for snare drums, of course voice, or just for a fun ambiental mic. A little EQ (sometimes) and a good preamp and... you got a winner. I feel this mic is like a little teacher, just talk to him and he will give you an answer. i give it a nine cause i think there are better mics, that`s all.
Features
Well, the roll off and pad are very precise, you can even see in your spectrometer the diference with and amazing control (sorry for the spelling)
Ease of Use
Use your ears, the ease of use is within yourself i think
Quality
Ok, i got some troubles with the shockmount, it seems the screw that holds can be a little chessy (sorry but its true) More that one time i had to stop the recording because the shockmount didnt hold the mic.
Value
For the price and the sound you can get i think honestly is a bargain
Manufacturer Support
I didnt had to use it so far, but im shure they are all gentleman.
The Wow Factor
If i lost it im sure i would buy another one
