I ordered this guitar because I wanted a seven string and having had two (a Cort multi-scale & a cheap Ibanez) I wanted to get a Schecter because I've had a Diamond series 6 string before with Seymour Duncan's and loved it. The active pickups are definitely a plus and it is really easy to play in terms of the neck shape and frets being perfect for my hands. The new Schecter's have a new font on the truss rod cover that I am not too fond of, but regardless I really like this guitar. The bridge is great because it doesn't really interfere with playing or impede movements. If you're doing sweeps on the 20th through 24th fret, the body does kind of get in the way a little bit, but not really down there that much so it doesn't really bother me. Kudos to zZounds for being so awesome by going above and beyond because the first one that I got, was defective. I was really bummed out because I haven't had a guitar for a while now but lo and behold, they were on top of it and printed me a shipping label for free, and had a perfect one in the mail as soon as I dropped the defected one off at the UPS store. I got a boss katana amp and some Sennheiser headphones and everything worked great. The problem with first Schecter was with some faulty wiring more than likely in the battery compartment because it looked like some screws were stripped but I know that wasn't zZounds fault. I really appreciate their awesome team of experts for sending me a perfect one and the payment plan that they put…

me on is phenomenal. The satin black looks remarkable and it really looks amazing. The strings were brand new and this guitar can handle lower tunings with excellence. You get some smooth buttery sounds with neck pickup and fierce crushing clarity with the bridge pickup. Perfect for technical blackened death metal. I am really happy with this purchase and now I am seeing the price dropped from $549 to $499 and I am so happy with this purchase that I do not even care that I'm paying $50 more because now I have an all access pass which will solidify my future business with this company. If you are considering doing business elsewhere, I highly recommend zZounds for your purchases and I couldn't be more stoked than I am about landing this guitar. Thank you zZounds and I hope that this review helps!

I would like to see the truss rod covers go back to their original font. It would be gnarly if Schecter put some Fishman's on their guitars, but their actives are really awesome too though. This guitar goes along perfectly for my playing style which is death metal and black metal. I think if the Cutaway for the neck and body were a little deeper, it would be easier to reach to play and hold chords and arpeggios on the highest frets. Also if this guitar were a multi-scale with the fanned frets, that would really be badass. This neck is really good and the design is very good. The quality is great and I'm really happy with this guitar.
Features
The jumbo frets and active pickups are my favorites. The bridge design is nice and very easy to work with/adjust. The tuners are good quality and the guitar stays in tune pretty good. You can get some good pinched harmonics and tremolo pick pretty fast. It's pretty easy to navigate from string to string while playing and you'll be happy with the clean tones as well as the heavily distorted ones as well. It has nice clarity and a great overall sound.
Ease of Use
It is very playable and my most favorite 7 string that I've owned. This would be a great 7 string for first timers and existing owners as well.
Quality
The first one I got had some issues, but no problems with the second one. I ordered the first one, got it in two days which was a Saturday. I sent it back on Tuesday and got the 2nd one on Thursday so great job by zZounds for being so helpful and legitimately the best company I've ever dealt with in terms of eliminating worry/doubt and replacing it confidence and happiness.
