zZounds Gear Experts Say...
A great match for PreSonus' Eris series of full-range studio monitors, this 100-watt sub brings serious bass extension to your home studio or listening room.
Overview
The Eris Sub8 is the first subwoofer to join the lauded and best-selling Eris studio monitor line. PreSonus called it Eris because it's been designed from the ground up to be part of the family; it complements the voicing and frequency response of the modern Eris classics. The surprisingly loud 100-Watt Eris Sub8 drops down to a molar-rattling 30Hz, allowing you to both rock harder and produce better mixes, as you'll be hearing an accurate representation of your work.
Thanks to robust configuration and I/O, you'll be able to tailor your Eris Sub8 configuration exactly to your mixing and listening needs. You can connect your existing monitors via 1/4" TRS or RCA, set the input level to your liking, and even invert the polarity. Most importantly, you get a High Pass Filter and a Low Pass Crossover control that ensures your Sub8 starts working at the precise low-frequency point where your main monitors stop working. This makes sure you avoid the flubbery, smudged, low-end mess that one hears in redundant, duplicate, redundant bass reproduction that occurs without a crossover.
- Class AB amplifier: 100W peak (50W RMS) power
- Input gain control (-30 dB to +6 dB, continuously variable)
- Continuously variable lowpass filter (50 Hz to 130 Hz)
- Defeatable highpass filter removes frequency content below 80 Hz from the full-range signal sent from the Eris Sub8 outputs to… read more the main speakers
- Left and right, balanced 1/4-inch TRS and unbalanced RCA main inputs
- Left and right balanced 1/4-inch TRS and unbalanced RCA pass-through outputs for connecting satellite speakers
- Polarity invert switch
- Protection: RF interference, Output-current limiting, Over-temperature, Turn-on/off transient, Subsonic filter, External mains fuse

"Great Compact Subwoofer!"
Verified Customer

This is truly an amazing Subwoofer. Because of their range, they can be blown, that being said, if this Sub is set up correctly, it will be reliable as the day is long. I have two of these Subs and I run them with Eris 7 XT and 5 XT. As long as I keep my mix flat and the Sub at no more than unity gain with the tops/mains set at 80Hz and above, this Subwoofer will deliver the lows and be reliable. I would have to say that at medium high to low volume settings, this compact affordable Subwoofer goes as low as it is advertised. I heard the 8 inch Mackie Subwoofer and not only does it not sound as good, it is lacking the inputs and controls that The PreSonus Sub8 has. Even if you do not have any PreSonus products, this is a great fit for those on a budget and with limited space. I have never heard my own music sound any better than through all of my PreSonus equipment. I have had louder and bigger gear in the past, yet not actually better sounding. This Subwoofer is great for home theater too. You do not have to play an instrument to get real value out of this killer little unit. Highly recommend this product.

High quality sound with great range!

The High Pass Filter, The over all controls. I would say that the only thing lacking are XLR inputs and outputs. I know that TS and TRS is easier and more common, yet XLRs would be a good feature.
