The MXR EVH 5150 Chorus is based on a legendary chorus unit that Eddie used to add texture and dimension to some of his most classic recordings from the early 1980s. It has a simple three-knob setup—Volume, Tone, and Intensity—with Input and Output Level pad switches, mono and stereo outputs, and an internal True/Buffered Bypass switch for modern rig flexibility. Combine this pedal with the 5150 Overdrive for a huge sound that's thick and chewy.

This Chorus Pedal is the best I've used. The wall of sound is incredible. I hook it up in conjunction with my EVH 5150 Overdrive pedal. There is no Rate knob which is fine with me. The Intensity knob does it all. The Volume and Tone knobs would be set to your personal preference. There are Input/Output switches to help dial in your overall preferences, once again. I found that with the Intensity knob in the 10:00 position, and the Volume in the 2:00 position, the thickness of my tone was huge, and yet subtle. I had the Tone just left of center. If you turn the Intensity down a little more, the pedal seemed to act as a Doubler. Turned up, the Chorus becomes more prominent. My hat is off to Eddie, and the engineers who developed this product. The same goes for the 5150 Overdrive. For me this is one of the best products I've purchased. It's too bad I didn't have this set up in the 80's when I was touring. As with all pedals, it's up to each individual, and how they want to shape their tone. I would recommend giving this one a shot to see if it will work for you. Thank You.
