Solid Spruce top. Fishman¬ Stereo Onboard Blender.

This is an acoustic-electric version of the D16GT model with the addition of a cutaway and Fishman Onboard Stereo Blender electronics. They feature the same solid construction and bracing. With the flick of a switch, the Blender offers TRS/stereo or mono signal paths for the system's under-saddle pickup and internal microphone. In addition, the Stereo Blender has a defeatable notch control.

Featuring solid woods throughout, this is a superb, cutaway acoustic, at an affordable price. With details like herringbone inlays, 2-piece back construction, scalloped (hybrid) bracing, and a Spruce top, it sounds as great as it looks. The DC16GTE features solid Mahogany back and sides with black binding and, a gloss Spruce top, and satin finish back and sides.

"Go for the great sounds and stability-not the fancy looks and colors and no-need frills"

There's always gonna be something better out there, something new or more innovative that will make heads turn. With that in mind at this point the D-16 suits my fancy just fine and then some especially for recording. I will def. keep it and supplement it eventually. Yes, if lost or whatever I'd look to replace it with the same....
Sound
Played for over 35 yrs. and I couldn't believe the tone when I first heard it and a yr. later is even getting better. Had many a guitar,[and still many], and though I never cared for MARTINS, that is till I played this one.
Features
Excellent choices of hard woods and herring pins and nut.Nothing on it is wasted fancy junk for looks..... A TRUE GUITAR!
Quality
Yes it's made well, but often scares me as it's so thin. Also it's very delicate and just a wrong slight touch of your nail can leave a lil' scratch. This is really my only b!tch about it but what ya gonna do but be xtra careful>>
Value
Definetely in comparison.
Manufacturer Support
