The 8pre-es connects to a Mac or PC with Thunderbolt, Hi-speed USB 2.0 or AVB/TSN Ethernet. Proven, reputable MOTU drivers work with all your favorite audio apps, delivering industry-leading, ultra-low round-trip latency (RTL) performance as low as 1.6 ms at 96 kHz over Thunderbolt with high-performance DAW hosts. USB audio class-compliant firmware allows connection to your iPad or any iOS device (with a standard camera connection kit, sold separately).

The 8pre-es is equally well-suited for studio and stage, with or without a computer. As an interface or standalone mixer, the 8pre-es provides 24 separate inputs and 28 separate outputs, including eight XLR/TRS "combo" mic/line/guitar inputs, eight balanced (TRS) quarter-inch outs and two independent front-panel headphone outs.

Connect all of your studio gear, including microphones, guitars, synths, keyboards, drum machines and effects processors. Record, monitor, route and process all of these live inputs with no latency and no processor strain on your computer. Extensive routing features let you patch ins to outs, or split inputs to multiple destinations. After recording and mixing in the studio, take the 8pre-es on stage as a stand-alone mixer with effects. Control everything over Wi-Fi from your favorite web browser running on your laptop, tablet and smartphone.
