Stand-alone recording from any analog or digital source, while also being able to perform high speed (2x) duplication for the internal CD player.

The CDR500 offers stand-alone recording from any analog or digital source while also being able to perform high speed (2x) duplication for the internal CD player. A dual playback mode is available, which allows simultaneous playback of both the recording and playback drives to separate outputs.

The CDR500 is compatible with pro and consumer CD-R and CD-RW discs. Track titles can be saved and edited in CD-TEXT format that can be read on CD-TEXT compatible CD players. Its Memory buffer prevents the beginning of tracks from getting cut off and it also provides digital and analog record level and balance control. Other features include menu-selectable SCMS copy protection, balanced (XLR) and unbalanced (RCA) analog inputs, coaxial and optical digital inputs, and unbalanced (RCA) analog and coaxial digital outputs, including coaxial loop-out for unprocessed connection to other digital equipment. IR remote control included.

CD-Text Generation

Record Level and Balance Control
The CDR500 offers both digital and analog record level and balance controls. This lets you easily control any input source and ensure that tracks on music compiliation discs share the same volume levels.

Selectable Copy Protection
Bypass SCMS copy protection when duplicating a disc. Or set your own copy protection at the level you decide.

Professional Inputs
Includes balanced (XLR) analog inputs with trim adjustment, unbalanced (RCA) analog inputs, and coaxial and optical digital inputs.

Marantz has tested and recommends medium grade and premium grade discs from the following brands:

Maxell
TDK
Sony

These discs will typically cost between 50 to 75 cents per disc and are readily available from major retail outlets.
