I had a 4x10 Lionheart combo quite some time ago and sold it of course…idiot! lol! Anyway I’m quite a bit older now and have serious spinal issues. I tried a couple higher end modelers, not my thing…landed on a simplified Mk2, still had the stage monitoring dilemma…and then discovered this unit. I’m a blues and classic rock player and really Inlike things simple and as little hassle as possible…I’ve had some serious rigs sonwhatbIm saying here is not to be taken lightly.I was very skeptical ordering and actually getting desperate for a solution that was plug and play…sounded and felt like an amp…with time you could work with and also with the ability to run direct and Ir’s…well…Laney hit the mark with this unit. Granted I don’t have the optimal cab for this thing but I was extremely surprised at how well this gets on like a tube amp…does it nail it? Well not perfectly…but way better than anything else out there that’s affordable…pedals work well with it…and a compressor makes it not even able to tell the difference. It’s definitely plenty loud but your speaker will make all the difference when you get it up there. Totally satisfied, surprised and relieved….now the part that really blew me away…I tested the the DI straight into an Alto TS312, expecting to be disappointed after the nightmare that I’ve been dealing with the last 5 weeks, that’s right…5 weeks. To be honest, when Inturned the levels up to hear it through the speaker read more all I could was smile, are the it’s perfect…no! But this is so extremely usable and passable for a professional that it’s hard to even explain…It sounds so good direct out of the box I wouldn’t think twice about just running it direct without a guitar cab. It needs a bit of highs shaved off but even without doing that it’s still usable with the eq and tone at noon across the board, even with a “Tim” running and heavily overdriven….Needless to say I can’t comment on the quality or reliability yet, I just received it today…but as far as what I’ve been able to test and tweak slightly so far…this is the ticket for any player looking do downsize and run direct/record. Blues, Jazz, and country player’s especially…this is your viable solution, and building a pedalboard around will take you anywhere you wanna go I wouldn’t doubt…Finally a company built something usable! Thank Laney, and Tom…
