zZounds Gear Experts Say...
Maple neck material. Mahogany body. 22 jumbo frets.
Overview
Sixteen years ago everyone "knew" that fat Mahogany tone and sustain equaled weight and discomfort. Then the S changed everything. The S is thin around the edge to give you great comfort, and thick around the neck, pickups and bridge to give you great tone. The 2003 S line offers both double locking and synchronized trems, some including built-in piezos so the S can add acoustic clarity to its signature Mahogany tone and sustain.
Series Features:
Big, heavy tone without the big heavy body. Super sleek S guitars provide complete playing freedom and comfort. New finishes complement the unique S arched back and top.
Thin fast, and flat Wizard and Wizard II necks allow effortless fretwork.
2003 models feature the ZR Zero Resistance tremolo, a major technological advance in tremolo smoothness and tuning stability.
S470DX Features:
Wizard II Neck - 25.5 scale neck is 2mm thicker than the super-thin, super-flat Ibanez Wizard.
Maple Neck Material
Mahogany Body - Mahogany provides rich warm lows and sweet sustain.
22 Jumbo Frets - Jumbo frets offer easy playing for leads and chording.
Bound Rosewood Finger Board
ZR Bridge
PSND1 (H) Neck PU
PSNDS (S) Mid PU
PSND2 (H) Bridge PU
S470DX Special Inlay

"Great Guitar"
i think this guitar will last me maaaannnny years.
Sound
Single coil sounds exactly like a strat. humbuckers are higher output than you would think. Zero Resistance Tremolo is awesome!! never goes out of tune. they even made the micro tuner for the low E able to raise up higher than the other strings, so you can tune into drop D without unclamping the neck locks.
Features
included an instrument cable (low quality) and allen wrenches. i was also very supprised, it came with a year subscription to rolling stones magazine, how cool is that?!?!
Quality
inlays are amazing and completely smooth to the fretboard. tremolo is all around awesome. little disappointed with the color, looks better thr further away you get. the "metallic" color looks more like somone just put dots all over the guitar. the metallic color on my schecter is much better, but schecter is well known for the awesome appearence of their guitars.
Value
i dont think you can get a higher quality guitar for the price.
The Wow Factor
paint job is a little &^%$ed up, i have the black lava metallic, but the blackened chrome on all the hardware is to die for.
