"Fingerstyle fanatic falls for a fabulous, funky rock & blues axe."
I currently own several acoustic/electrics including: a jumbo Guild 12-string, Takamine cedar-top 6-string, a Seagull 6 string, a Yamaha classical and a Dobro. The Ibanez AXS32 is my first "electric" guitar in over 24 years. It was worth the wait and likely the last electric I'll ever buy.
Sound
Excellent tone and sustain. Extremely versatile from fingerstyle to power rock. I play through a Digitech Genesis III guitar synth and a Fender Acoustasonic Junior amp. I was particularly impressed with its fullness in blues applications.
Features
Amazing flexibility in the bridge adjustments. Solid hardware from bridge to tuners. Pots are smooth and crackle free, humbuckers are well placed and easily adjusted. Having the pick-up 3-position switch below the strings and near the tone and volume controls is far more sensible than the traditional "Les Paul" configuration. You can switch from rythym to lead without missing a beat.
Quality
Solid. Great fit and finish. I don't advise using gig bags for any guitars of decent quality, but no concerns about road use with a good fitting hardshell case.
Value
Excellent performance, playability, adjustability, fit and finish. Exceptional value!!!

While quilted maple enthusiasts may prefer the "blueberry" finish of the slightly lower priced AX220QM model, the improved features and unique appearance of the AXS32 including the set (not bolt on) neck and adjustable bridge is well worth the $30 or so price difference. Plus, the aluminum finish pickguard gives the AXS32 a great edgy, unique appearance.
Musical Style:
Fingerstyle primarily, but getting back into Rock. read less
