zZounds Gear Experts Say...
The perfect match for HEDD MK2 monitors, this powerful studio sub is loaded with DSP tools for phase linearization and an ingenious closed-or-ported design.

Very likely the biggest 12" subwoofer on the market, BASS 12 performs best when combined with HEDD's 3-way-systems TYPE 20 MK2 and TYPE 30 MK2. It lets you feel so much more of your music, adding weight and club atmosphere when you are mixing or simply try to impress your clients. It takes your audio all the way down to 20Hz, unless you are brave enough to to engage the Bass Extension mode (then you're talking 16 Hz).

What makes this 700W subwoofer really special and truly unique is its capability to play along in a fully phase linear Satellite-Subwoofer system. Connected to a pair of HEDD MK2 monitors, it is possible to enable your set up to perform in complete linear phase -- the result is a truly fascinating audio experience as you get both, the body of a big subwoofer and precision of a razor sharp monitoring system.

There is more: For an example the Satellite OFFSET control that assists you when compensating for potential sound problems resulting from the positioning between monitors and subwoofer (it lets you add or subtract ± 2 m depending on your chosen placement). And it goes without saying that HEDD also included a variety of crossover filters (incl. Home Cinema adaptable LFE).

The BASS 12 can be connected via Analog and Digital AES connections.

HEDD Lineariser

By bringing HEDD Lineariser technology to the world of subwoofers, HEDD enables you to use a fully phase-linear subwoofer-satellite system.

Closed or Ported

HEDD subwoofers make use of large bass read more ports that enable them to create the powerful dynamic sound you would expect from an active subwoofer. However, by pushing a set of custom plugs into the ports (plus switching to another DSP setting), you can turn them into a completely different beast, increasing precision and control.

Group Delay Compensation

The Lineariser technology is a crucial part of HEDD BASS subwoofers. It allows for phase correction which can by addressed on both the subwoofer and monitor level. In addition to that, HEDD solved group delay problems by developing the Group Delay Compensation tool. The result is jaw-dropping accuracy for a subwoofer and an overall integrated sound experience.
