Overview
Guild Starfires have defined semi-hollow body electric guitar design since coming onto the music scene in the early 1960's. Retaining this legacy and the airy, crisp tone you would expect from these collectible instruments, the Starfire I DC (double-cut) California Burst offers a modern build with classic feel and true vintage tones.
Featuring an elegantly arched Mahogany top, back, and sides with a Mahogany center block for reduced feedback and clear sustain, the Starfire I tonewoods are versatile across music genres, from jangly cleans to fat overdriven tones. Playing feels smooth and easy with the comfortable 24 3/4" scale length and modern thin "U" neck profile while the 18th fret neck-to-body joint provides easy access to the upper register of the fingerboard. Premium Guild Vintage 18 tuners with 18:1 gear ratio and Tune-o-matic bridge ensure stable tuning while using the Guild Vibrato Tailpiece for bends and added musical versatility.
The Starfire I is powered by Guild HB-2 Alnico humbuckers in the neck and bridge, equipped with push-pull coil splitting to allow for singing, single coil tones from either pickup. The California Burst finish compliments the mahogany body with subtle bursting up the neck and headstock in classic Guild 60's fashion.
