I've been a guitar player for over 30 years now, and have owned lots of different guitars over the years. Mainly Gibsons and a few classic Strats.I was in the market for a new SG and was extremely disappointed with the new Gibson SG Standard I bought, AND it's replacement. So, I figured I'd give the Guild a chance. Man, am I glad I did. The fit and finish out of the box was spot-on. I ordered the Cherry Red model, and there is nothing on this Polara that feels, or sounds, like a sub-$1000 guitar. The pickups sound GREAT, clean and (especially) dirty. And they actually have a cool split option that's useable. Nice full, rounded neck profile. Excellent balance, NO NECK DIVE! It arrived needing minimal setup work and stays in tune for days. It's hard to describe, but it feels like this guitar just WANTS to be played. The harder you dig in, the better it responds.Great tone, great looks, great playability for a fraction of the cost of a new Gibson SG. If you try it, you won't be disappointed. Personally, I should have bought a Polara years ago.

Musical Background:

30 plus years of guitar.

Musical Style:

Progressive stoner riffs mostly & some blues when I'm drinking.
