Each instrument celebrates Gibson's legacy through accuracy, authenticity and attention to detail. From Freddie King to Jeff Beck, many great pickers have been attracted the unique character of the "wraparound" tailpiece of a 1955 Les Paul Goldtop. Some believe its direct link to the body stud screws maximizes sustain while others believe the wraparound bar creates a distinct tonality and vocal quality. Whatever the case, there is certainly something special about this early year in the Les Paul Model's history and Gibson Custom Shop created this '55 Reissue to perfectly recapture the look, feel, and tone of the originals.

This guitar is a steal. Its $500 less expensive than a normal R4 and it has the gold back! Come on, what are you still thinking about? Goldtop Les Pauls are cool, custom shop historic reissue goldtop Les Pauls are even cooler, an all gold P90 custom shop Les Paul is cool AF. Mine was a respectable 8.6 lbs and resonates beautifully. I can only imagine how good it is going to feel after a few months of playing in the frets and fingerboard. This is a really great guitar and fits into my collection beautifully as my first P90 guitar. I was on the fence about ordering from zZounds since I never had before, but my experience was great. The guitar arrived quickly in a double box and it still had the tamper evident seal in place from Gibson.
