Gibson hit this one out of the park. It is everything claimed in the ad copy.
The new switch/jack do feel a TON better than my old '93 Studio's or my 2014 339 (which is a fine guitar, but the electronics on it now feel cheap by comparison).
Pickups are snappy and get the traditional Les Paul sound. Electronics (accessible via DIP switch on the tone/vol circuit cavity) offer a ton of options, and they all sound good. Pick what makes you happy, and you won't have to open it up very often to change things, but you can.
G Force tuners work as advertised. I'm not going for mega heavy strings (use Fender stainless 10s, like I do on all my guitars). Strum, in tune, yay.
Easy removable pickguard is something Gibson should have done years ago. It just snaps in/out.
Aluminum case is like an Airstream trailer for the guitar. It's not light but it's not astonishingly heavy either. Feels like class, and a big step up from the alternatives.
Fit and finish on the guitar is very, very good. Not seeing any flaws, even inside the electronics cavity looked good. Included accessories were a nice touch, especially the pickup wiring kit that lets you take 2 or 4 conductor pickups that don't have the Gibson plug in end and make them work with the existing stuff installed. No need to butcher the existing electronics for a pickup swap.
Neck width is pleasant. Reminiscent of the wide Ibanez Wizard stuff with a much beefier profile - shredder meets jazzbox, in a very pleasant way.…

Neck access improvement should be on all the non-traditional guitars, it may look a little funny but playing it made me a believer.
Not cheap but feels like a fair price given the overall quality of the thing. I don't feel cheated for the $$$ at all.
Only negative is the lack of details on the DIP switch settings - there's a small sticker on the inside of the cover for the electronics cavity, and nothing more. No insert in the manual, nothing on Gibson's site. I contacted Gibson directly and they're looking into getting me more info, got through to a real human being in the US with less than 15 seconds on hold. A+.
