"Fishman open core Modern 1 pick up Alnico 5 magnets"

you need an alnico 5 open core 7 bridge pick up to get rid of the muddy tones with ceramic EMG or Fishmans. The EMG 707 is alnico 5 and I love it but the Fishman is better
Sound
I used this open core alnico 5 active in my ESP artic white 7 string. it had a ceramic EMG-81-7 TW which was muddy and dark. I knew it wasn't the guitar as it sounded amazing unplugged. I remembered my EMG 707 from my Jackson SLAT7 (it was designed with Dino of FF and EMG) it is ALNICO 5 as well. This open core modern Alnico with the fishman 25k vol pot brought the guitar to life!!!
Features
My Luthier had to shave a bit of the wood on each side of the guitar to make it fit. but the stock EMG cover hides all of this. I only changed the pick up and volume pot. I left all the wiring, jack, and push/pull pot in the box. This pick-up saved me from selling the guitar.
Ease of Use
install into a 7 string on voice 1 and use only parts you need, The original EMG-7 TW was a muddy mid-laden nightmare (it was ceramic) remember a 7 string needs Alnico in the bridge as the clarity is amazing but the fishman electronics make it scream!!
Quality
top notch!!!!
Value
It is worth it because it solved my issues and kept me from selling a new guitar and loosing money

The Wow Factor
After a month of reading forums and hearing folks say you need ceramic magnets for heavy/modern gain I decided to go with my gut and use a Fishman Fluence open core modern Alnico 5 magnet in my bridge on my 7 string. Ceramic is better for 6 string but 7, 8, 9 extended range clarity first then punch. I would place this just over the EMG 707 (also Alnico 5) I am an EMG guy of 20 years but I have fishman's in 3 rigs now!!
