This model features a unique Augmented "D" neck profile with Ultra rolled fingerboard edges for endless playing comfort, and a tapered neck heel allows easy access to the highest register. A speedy 10"-14" compound-radius fingerboard with 22 stainless steel medium-jumbo frets means effortless and accurate soloing, while the Custom Double Tap humbucking pickups and advanced wiring options provide endless tonal possibilities - without hum. As a long time (30 years) player of ESP LTD 1000 series guitars, the last 5 years have been with a Floyd Rose trem. Its been a long time coming for getting another FR trem equipped axe. This thing just seemed to be calling to me. I know it’s weird. I was on the fence for a long time about it because of the price, and the fact that I dont play Telecasters….or even Fenders. I was used to high gloss necks, seymour duncans, and 24 frets. Yet it continued to call…so I went for it. I naively lowered my expectations and would have been happy if it had only played and felt as good as my LTD’s. But, this guitar is a genuine work of art. It really is another class of instrument that responds in ways I did not know existed. I cannot say enough good things about it. The s1 switch is one of my favorites, the push push just works better. The not so good….the back plate is not recessed and doesn’t have slots for adjusting the spring tension. So I did have to do an immediate mod and installed a schaller adjustable spring claw, drilled a single hole in the backplate to be able to insert the allen wrench…and now, I’ve been grinning for the last 2 weeks. I know the years to follow will be a joy!
