I sprung for one of the single coil 256 versions on a blowout so I got one for around 2 bills. It was made in Vietnam. Surprisingly heavy - this guitar has a great deal more body mass to it than an SG counterpart. I see some guys have complained about it being neck heavy. I am not having that experience at all. The strap button has been placed on the backside of the treble horn which I think gives it more stability for such a claim of being "neck heavy". The pickups sound really very good, as single coils they're a bit buzzy but the tones are nice for P90 styles. The fretwork is done well enough that I am not cutting into my hands from poor bevel work when utilizing the neck. Neck profile is good too and I was able to lower the action without any deadening - bend outs to a level lower than how it arrived and the buzz isn't too much more noticeable on the bass end. Hardware stays in tune well, and the nut is of a good size and cut. The binding is rather stark and my only notice of complaint was the seems in the headstock where the join was for the headstock binding. Here it seemed there had been a little bit of a glue residual issue and it appears a bit heavy if not a tad bit discolored. The inlays seem nice, cut and fit look good. . Playability is really quite good. I own a great deal of guitars varying all across the price spectrum up to thousands and this is a well made mid point axe that I could gig with out of the box with a few tweaks. Would work well for a beginner, intermediate…
