The beautiful SG Muse features a classic SG profile with a Mahogany body powered by high output Alnico Classic PRO humbuckers with coil-splitting and phase controls plus a treble bleed circuit to maintain clarity at lower volumes.

New Look, Classic Sound

The SG Muse Collection features the historic SG profile with a Mahogany body that's been a Gibson Brands classic since 1961. The Mahogany neck is hand-set and glued into the body and features a Custom "C" profile with an Indian Laurel fingerboard with pearloid trapezoid inlays, a 24.75" scale, medium jumbo frets, and a narrow 1.63" Graphtech nut.

Alnico Classic PRO Humbuckers

The SG Muse Collection is powered by Epiphone Alnico Classic PRO humbuckers which feature Alnico-V magnets for a higher output than traditional humbuckers. Alnico Classic PROs also feature 18% Nickel Silver unit bases and covers, the same alloy used by Gibson at the Kalamazoo factory when the humbucker was first invented. The use of Nickel Silver reduces the occurrence of eddy currents due to low conductivity and provides a more transparent and crisp output. Controls include a standard 3-way toggle switch and standard Les Paul volume and tone for each pickup with clear speed knobs with white numbers. Both pickups also offer a push-pull split-coil feature activated at each volume control to turn the humbucker into a single-coil pickup for even more tonal options as well as a in/out phase switch on the neck's tone control. The volume pots also now feature read more a standard treble bleed circuit to maintain clarity at lower volume.

Rock Solid Epiphone Hardware

Like all great SGs, the Muse Collection features rock solid hardware including Epiphone lightweight machine heads with an 18:1 tuning ratio and Epiphone's standard LockTone bridge and Stopbar tailpiece.

I’d been searching for another Epi SG for a while and stumbled upon the Muse. I’ve got an Alpine White Epi SG that I favor over my Gibson SG Standard. zZounds offered great customer service, and at the time was the only vendor I could find that had the Jet Black Metallic in stock. It arrived the next day. Everything appeared really nice out of the box. The synthetic nut, hardware, paint job, and construction all looked wonderful. But as we all know, brand new instruments need some tweaking. What appeared to be one high fret turned out to be 5 loose ones. They were tricky to detect. Usually they talk to you when you apply a file for leveling. But with some effort on the frets and a bit of work on the nut, this thing plays like a dream. Tone for days. There is a noticeable weight difference between this and my 2009 Gibson and it gives more growl. I needed the Dirty Deeds tone and boy did I get it. The zZounds people were very gracious about my trouble. I’d recommend them in a heartbeat.
