Overview
Ash is notorious for being one of the most musical woods. Its deeply resonant and darker qualities make it more preferred than Maple for guitar bodies, while its vibrant grain has the stunning visual qualities of Oak. DDrum's new Dominion Ash kits capture the essence of this oft-overlooked gen of the forest with this limited run series.
The Pocket kit. This truly unique set-up is specifically tailored to the player that wants to create a deep pocket in the groove. The 20 in. x 20 in. kick keeps the feel tight without sacrificing much needed bottom end, and the 7 in. x 13 in. snare delivers sweet crack without being robbed of depth. In contrast, shallow toms create a more musical tone down to the scale. To compliment the darker nature of Dominion Ash's shell grain, the hardware and Die-Cast hoops on the new Pocket kit have been plated in Black-Nickel Chrome, for an unrivaled visual and sonic feast.

"Great kit for the cost!"
Sound
I notice a warmer sound from the DDRUM than my Yamaha Beech Customs. I think the toms have a nice feel and the overall sound is a bit more to my liking. The drum sizes help with minimal "overring."
Features
I think the ball clamps and mounts lack a little "sturdiness", but the overall hardware on the drums looks great and seems to be quality made.
Ease of Use
Easy to assemble, fairly easy to tune. I would ditch the stock heads right away and get some quality REMOS or EVANS heads.
Quality
I've heard some horror stories about manufacturing issues....but mine came with no problems whatsoever. I like the look and style of the drums. Lugs and hardware are a nice black nickle finish.
Value
I think for the money paid...you get a good quality kit, with great features and great sound. Sure, there are fancier kits for more money. But if you want a good kit to play with (intermediate to Pro features) and don't want to shell out all the extra cash for a (practice, moderate gigging kit) this is a great deal!
Manufacturer Support
Haven't had to deal with them.
On occassion have sent an email, and they've promptly returned my messages.
The Wow Factor
LOOKS AWESOME! Great kit to look at from a fans perspective!
I've got the (Java Sparkle) and it's retro looking, but very ROCK AND ROLL!!
