The least expensive amp, the GX15 was named as the Amplifier of the Year by MMR magazine in 1995! Crate's patented "FlexWave" circuitry replicates the tone, response and feel of a hard-driven tube amp, using more efficient solid-state components. They have been evolving this circuit since 1980 and now include the "Evolution Five" FlexWave preamp design in every GX and GFX amp we make. In 1993, they won the Amp of the Year award for the groundbreaking GT80DSP which was the first and only amp on the market to include Digital Signal Processing with an analog and tube driven preamp circuit design. That commitment continues today with the GFX models rocketing to the top of the industry as the price/performance standard in amps with digital effects. New for 2001, the GFX212T features Channel Tracking, which allows you to assign a different digital effect to each channel. The GFX212T also features an additional 6 effects, for a total of sixteen.

"Best amp for $300 less than closest competitors"
I think this amp will satisfy my needs for a long time. I don't see the need to supplement it at all, as I think with its volume and sound quality that it could handle almost any venue.
Features, price, sound, volume, all great.
Sound
I've been playing guitar for less than a year, but already need an amp for performances. This was the first "real" amp that I've had, and it couldn't be better. The clean channel is SUPER-clean. It buzzed at first when I would turn it up, but I have bad pickups. Without a guitar plugged in and everything on the clean channel turned to 10 there is negligable background noise. The two gain channels are great, turn the gain knobs all the way up and you get awesome distortion, just make sure you have the level way down :). This amp is VERY loud, I never have the clean or gain channels above 2 or 3 for practice.
Features
3 footswitchable channels, included footswitch, great footswitchable reverb, great clean channel, great gain channels. A few features lacking. First off, both gain channels both use the same volume level knob, which sort of defeats the purpose of dual gain channels. Also, there are no on-board effects. However, I have a good effects pedal, so this more than makes up for it. LOUD!!!
Quality
Seems like a well-built amp except for one thing that kind of scares me, which is the very open back. The speakers are very exposed… read more in back, so I would recommend that you take extra caution when transporting this amp.
Value
I don't think you can get any better value from an amp of what this costs. Effects would have been nice, but like I said, I have an effects pedal so it's not a big issue. Very loud for the price.
Manufacturer Support
Haven't dealt with them, but there is an included 5-year transferrable warranty which makes me feel that I wouldn't have any problem if something happened.
The Wow Factor
I can't think of a single reason why I wouldn't want this amp if I didn't have it. Most of all, great sound at any volume, as well as the included footswitch.
