zZounds Gear Experts Say...
With Floyd Rose tremolo and high output BDSM humbuckers, this guitar was made to shred at massive volumes. The silver outlining on the outlandish black body complete the package.
Overview
The Trace Warbeast is one of BC Rich's most aggressive designs. With a Floyd Rose-licensed tremelo and a pair of BC Rich BDSM humbuckers, this machine is built to shred. The Trace Warbeast stands out from the crowd with a silver trace around the beveled body, and dual inlays run the full length of the ebony fingerboard. This beast is truly a beauty! Like the trail of tracer bullets in the night, the trail of silver on the fretboard and body of the Warbeast Trace create a stunning show. Special features include an ebony fretboard and black chrome hardware.

This BC Rich Warbeast Trace T is the best bang for buck deal going on right now. For the price I paid, the guitar rocks big time.
Sound
The only part of the guitar that leaves just a little more being desired. The pups are quite decent in their own way, its just that I prefer active ones for the clean crunch they provide. These stock pups do Not suck and IMO are better than some of the Gibson stock pups I've experienced through the years. I plan on upgrading these to EMG Kerry King signature set.
Features
For the money, the features simply cannot be beat. Just the look and feel of this axe is mind numbing, in a great way. The one I received has a mahogany body which is more desirable because it keeps the guitar from being too neck heavy, a bit of an issue with the lighter basswood used on some of BC Richs intermediate axes. This alone prompted me to stop playing long enough to write this review.
Ease of Use
For me this guitar is a shredding delight. Right out of the box the action and intonation work flawlessly, after the initial locking nut opened and tune-up. The 14 inch radius is very shred friendly, quite a shock at the asking price of 270.00 us dollars.
Quality
Considering the mahogany body, bolt-on rock maple neck with smooth ebony fingerboard, great fret work, radius and kicking shape, this axe is definitely a worthy contender for future upgrades,… read more like the aforementioned EMG KK pups. When and If the time ever comes that any of the hardware may need replacement, this grinder of an axe is more than worth investing in.
Value
As already mentioned, IMHO, this axe is by far the best bang for buck out there at the moment. I would give it an award if I could.
Manufacturer Support
Have yet to need them as I just received the guitar. I really don't foresee needing their services anytime soon because if ever something needs repair I will bring it to my local luthier.
The Wow Factor
Considering that when I ordered this guitar, I was prepared to have to intonate, adjust and even send back if it were too neck heavy, I am quite WOW'ed by only needing to tune it up out of the box. I've received countless guitars by mail before that needed complete setups upon arrival, including one hell of a horror story with a Steinberger GM transtrem axe which cost at the time almost ten times what this BC Rich does. WOW indeed!
Musical Background:
Have 30+ years experience shredding, composing, performing and recording.
Musical Style:
Metal of all types, classic, death, black, speed, etc. Same with rock styles and some heavy blooze. read less
