Its extended frequency response captures subtle nuances of the performance. The included AT8418 UniMount clip permits accurate positioning and provides shock resistance while protecting the element. The microphone's cardioid polar pattern reduces pickup of sounds from the sides and rear, improving isolation of the desired sound source.

"Great recording mic!"

I’ve owned this mic for years and used it to record toms, clipped onto the rim. Crisp highs and deep lows. Is it an MD421? Well…..no , but it has served me well for many recordings and performed terrific on a sax too(bright, punchy). It would probably do well on a snare in a pinch. A good value.
