Everything you love about iPod just got tinier. iPod mini lets you bring along enough music for a 3-day weekend getaway in a package so small you'll forget you're carrying it. Until people ask you about it, that is.

Fashionably Compact
Apple engineers squeezed all the best features of iPod into a case weighing just 3.6 ounces and smaller than any cell phone (Compared volumetrically to cell phones sold in the U.S.). iPod mini features an anodized aluminum case that resists stains and scratches. The case weighs practically nothing, but protects iPod mini in your pocket, purse or backpack. Recessed in the case to keep its surface pristine wherever you lay it, the 1.67 in. (diagonal) backlit screen displays full song names and more. Like its (slightly) bigger brother, iPod mini gives you over 25 minutes of skip protection and lasts up to 8 hours on a single battery charge. So you won't pay a penalty for miniaturization.

Can Touch This
In fact, all the features of iPod are still under your thumb. Always striving for perfection, Apple engineers moved the iPod's buttons under the wheel. The iPod mini Click Wheel gives you the enhanced durability and sensitivity of the iPod Touch Wheel, with buttons underneath. The Click Wheel takes best advantage of minuscule space and lets you scroll single handedly though 1,000 songs from your iTunes music collection. You'll find such thoughtful construction only from Apple. Because try as they might, the competition can't touch this.

Oh, one read more other minor detail, you can choose your iPod mini in 1 of 5 trend-setting colors: silver, gold, green, pink or blue. (All shiny.)

The iTunes Music Store
Build a collection of music on your iPod mini with songs downloaded from the iTunes Music Store. Choose from hundreds of thousands of songs you can preview and buy with just one click. The iTunes Music Store stays open 24/7 - right on your Mac or Windows PC. Within a minute of finding a song you like, you can own it. You can make unlimited playlists, burn individual songs to CD as many times as you like and take all your music with you wherever you go on your iPod mini.

Autosync your iPod mini with Mac and Windows
iTunes 4 lets you organize your music on your Mac or Windows PC and automatically transfer it to iPod mini. Whether you've ripped your CD collection to MP3, bought music from the iTunes Music Store or made your own track with GarageBand, you can take it with you wherever you go. Your iPod mini includes both a FireWire and a USB 2.0 cable for high-speed transfer from your Mac or PC. In fact, you can move an entire album from your computer to your iPod mini in seconds flat. With the industry's only true Auto-Sync, your iPod mini is always up-to-date, mirroring the latest changes you've made in iTunes. And if your collection on your computer is bigger than iPod mini, you can let iTunes automatically choose a selection of songs to fill it up.

Games, Calendar, Contacts & Notes
Behind the Click Wheel of your iPod mini await features that make it the world's best digital music player. Listen to your music as you fall asleep, and wake up with music or an alarm. Store a copy of your contacts, calendar and to-do lists on your iPod mini. Or keep anything from store restaurant reviews to nightlife guides, and news articles to exercise routines - right at your fingertips. iPod mini also includes four fun games you can play anywhere, a feature you're sure to appreciate the next time you're standing in line or waiting for someone. You can even play your music as the soundtrack to the games Music Quiz, Solitaire, Brick and Parachute.

Best Buds
iPod mini includes sleek earbud headphones - in signature iPod white - that offer a wide frequency response range for high-quality sound. Neodymium drivers make iPod headphones five times more powerful than the other guys' headphones, which often use aluminum, cobalt or ceramic drivers.

Belt Your Tunes
Your iPod mini includes a convenient Belt Clip to attach the mini to your belt, purse or backpack. You can even clip the iPod mini to a lanyard for the ultimate fashion statement. We hear it's big in Japan.

Listening to music on your iPod is one of life's great sensory experiences, but there are times when you need to turn down the volume and take care of business. The iPod and iPod mini are superbly equipped to help there, too, with a range of built-in utilities (and games) that make them an even more indispensable part of your daily life. iPod provides these great features to keep you organized, on time and having fun:

Check your Calendar
iPod supports vCalendar and iCalendar files, which can be exported by many applications, including Microsoft Entourage, Palm Desktop and iCal. You'll never miss a dentist appointment again.

Keep your Contacts
Say goodbye to clunky spiral-bound address books. With support for industry-standard vCard files, iPod lets you store and access all your important contact information with the touch of a button.

Play Games
There's never a dull moment with the iPod. In fact, iPod now includes Music Quiz, Solitaire, Brick and Parachute, four popular games you can play anywhere - a benefit you're sure to appreciate the next time you're standing in line or waiting for someone.

Store Text Notes
With the notes reader, you can transfer text-based information to your iPod and read it on-screen. Now you can have the information you need - from restaurant reviews to concert guides to news articles - right at your fingertips.

Set Your Wake Up Call
The iPod is the perfect travel companion. It features a sleep timer, so you can fall asleep to your music. Or wake up with an alarm clock. You can choose either an alarm tone or your favorite music to wake you up. Both features work well with portable speakers or your stereo.

Take Important Files with You -- Convenient Data Storage
iPod can double as a FireWire or USB 2.0* hard drive for your computer. This allows you to transfer files and applications from your computer to the iPod and take them with you wherever you go. iPod is smart enough to keep your data files separate from your music collection. *USB 2.0 connection is for Windows PCs only; USB 2.0 cable is included with iPod mini and sold separately for iPod.

Auto-Sync with iTunes
Fast, effortless, simple. That's Auto-Sync. All you need to do to keep your iPod or iPod mini filled with the newest tracks in your iTunes library is plug it in. iPod and iTunes take care of the rest.

Apple Ease Crosses Platforms
No matter whether you use a Windows PC or a Mac, iPod offers a superior solution. You can synchronize your music and data effortlessly, without having to tweak settings each time you transfer files between your iPod and your computer. Really. Simply add new music to iTunes by downloading new music from the integrated iTunes Music Store or ripping a CD to MP3 or AAC. Mac users' Garage Band compositions automatically appear in their iTunes music library.

Transfer Your Music Automatically
Once you plug in your iPod, it starts to download these changes. You don't even have to press a button. iTunes knows when you've plugged in your iPod to your computer. You can see at a glance what's on your iPod or iPod mini in the iTunes window. If your iTunes library exceeds the iPod's storage capacity, you can let iTunes fill your iPod or iPod mini for you. iTunes will create a playlist that fits your style - and your iPod's capacity. iTunes also picks up any playlists you've made on your iPod so you can play or edit them on your Mac or PC. For finer control over your portable collection, you can turn off Auto-Sync and select your iPod's contents manually.

Fast Transfer Times, One Simple Connector
iPod and iPod mini transfer an entire CD in as little as ten seconds. Of course, total time varies depending on how much music you want to add to your iPod. The handy dock connector found on the bottom of your iPod lets it link to a computer and sync files via blazingly fast FireWire 400 (Mac or Windows) or USB 2.0 (Windows only). iPod mini includes a USB 2.0 cable, which is sold separately for iPod owners. The dock connector also charges the iPod.

In addition to the dock connector, the 20GB and 40GB iPod models include the iPod Dock, an elegant, convenient home base for iPod on a desk or connected to a home stereo system. 15GB iPod and iPod mini owners can purchase the iPod Dock as an accessory.

This review has been selected by our experts as particularly helpful.
I will be satisfied with this product until they make a 60GB one that is selling for less then the 6GB one that I bought is. The only time I would replace it is to buy it's bigger brother in two years or so. I like the ease of use and the huge variety of accesories for it the most, and I like the steep price the least. But hey, if you want quality, it's going to cost you. And this is quality.

Sound
The sound is as good as the speakers you provide. If you have awesome speakers, the iPod matches that with awesome sound.

Features
The iPod has hundreds of different accesories you can buy to use with it. A standard iPod comes with a Firewire cord, a USB 2.0 cord, an AC adapter, a carrier to slip the iPod into that gives you a handy belt clip, all the neccesary software needed to use it, (iTunes 4.8 etc.) a full one year warranty, a manual, and of coarse, the signature earbud Apple headphones. It comes with everything ready to use, all you have to have is a computer that is able to open iTunes. The iPod also has a calender and self-setting clock built in.

Quality
Apple has always made beautiful products, that aren't cheap. It's no different with the iPod. The worst aspect of the quality would have to be that it- well, I can't really think of anything.

Value
It is a very well made product that won't crap out on me... ...maybe ever.

Manufacturer Support read more
Apple is rated number one with service in all aspects. I have never needed help from Apple, because there hasn't been anything wrong.

The Wow Factor
The iPod is the best music player out there. Everyone else is trying to copy Apple or trying something new (boldly) that usually doesn't have any appeal what-so-ever. The world was waiting fo the perfect music player, and now it's here with the iPod.

Musical Background:
Just a Listener.

Musical Style:
I like to listen to a variety of music.
