This thing is amazing. It really is a standalone DAW. Once you figure out the work flow it’s a breeze to use. You can definitely do full productions on this thing. On the beat making side it comes with everything you need to make beats. I make beats on the MPC when I’m not at home and mix them down on my computer when I get home. On the weekends I use the MPC controller mode and make beats on my computer still using the MPC instead of the Mouse and Keyboard.You can hook up a midi or Bluetooth keyboard to it, I would recommend using a Bluetooth midi keyboard so you can still have access to the usb 3 port. Now the plugins built into the MPC are cool and you get an additional 1-2 paid plugin vouchers. I got OP-X4 and Jura for free and bought FABRIC XL and MIni D for a discounted price. Just make sure you purchase your plugins through Akai because Air music charged regular prices. Jura and Mini D are good choices but OP-X4 has more sounds than Mini D. I have a 256 GB SD card in with a lot of sound packs and expansions and still have over a 100GB and I have been making beats everyday since 12-8-23. It’s a solid build pads are responsive the buttons are solid the touch screen is smooth and responds to touch really well.Now the main Con for me is the converters suck software wise the sound quality is good and you can easily transfer your projects to a computer but I like to run my mix through my preamp compressor and sonic exciter to give the music a little analog feel to it.… read more Using the outputs on the MPC just made whatever I worked on sound like a mess. But I got an Audient ID4 and hooked it up to the MPC and now I can record vocals and the DA converters have completely transformed my productions same template same process but everything is smooth, Clean, and detailed when I print back into my DAW. So you definitely want a class compliant interface with decent converters if you want to record into your DAW. And you will need an adapter if your interface is C-type but the ID 4 and Komplete Audio 2 interfaces worked plug and play no problem. All in all the MPC One Plus has the same sound, functionality and features of all the MPCs just smaller pads and less connectivity. And for the price of the live two I got plugins, a case, SD card, interface, sound packs, drum kits, the MPC Bible, TRS cables, Drum kit-Preset maker software, and a cheap but sturdy stand. That’s why in IMO the MPC one is the best bang for your Buck of any products in this price range.
