"Holy Grohl!"
I bought the Pelham blue Dave Grohl ES-335. As soon as I picked it up I knew it was going to be a hell of a guitar. Perfectly balanced when you wear it with a strap so the headstock does not fall towards the ground. The neck is thicker than I was used to (Gibson SG) but once I started playing it was just like riding a bicycle with a perfectly fitted seat. The guitar unplugged is full of tone. Plugged in it is a beast! The Burstbucker2 and 3 are so much more than I expected. I use Mesa Rectifiers and you can drive the hell out of the amp and the notes still come through brilliantly and when I switch to the clean channel I can get rich neck pickup tones, the middle position is perfectly blended with a full lower end with highs than ring thru without losing any depth, and the bridge pickup shimmers with a nicely shaped high end without being shrill. I can get a huge overdriven sound and when I am playing clean there is no breakup at all.Perfect playability, very wide range of tones, and it's Pelham blue so what more could you ask for other than knocking $3,000 of the price. Expensive guitar but worth every penny!! Now I know where Dave gets his tone.
