Boost your sound and leave the feedback behind with the Behringer Shark DSP110 Feedback Filter and Preamplifier from Behringer.

Whether in combination with microphones or as a delay line for speaker systems, the Behringer DSP110 Shark Feedback Filter And Preamplifier is the perfect answer to all your problems - live and in the studio. The optionally available rack-mount kit for five DSP110 Sharks gives you five times the power.

Crystal Clear Sound Without Feedback. Guaranteed

Thanks to its intelligent "Learn Mode," the Behringer DSP110 Shark can automatically equalize your PA. Behringer's ingenious search algorithm assures that feedback frequencies are attenuated within fractions of a second, using the same narrow, 1/60 octave single-shot filters that work so well for the new DSP1100P. The remaining of the Shark's 12 filters automatically take action as required. Only feedback frequencies are attenuated, leaving your music powerful and live, and allowing a volume increase of up to 9 dB - the equivalent of 800 percent more power!

The Perfect Delay Tactic

Delay lines are required to compensate for time variations resulting from speaker positioning. The Behringer DSP1100P Shark's clever technology enables you to fit this bill to a T: the delay can be adjusted in meters, feet, or milliseconds. The maximum delay time of 2.5 seconds corresponds to a distance of 850 meters. Combining several Shark's with the optional rack-mount kit puts a complete professional speaker management system at your fingertips.

Mic Preamp, Di Box, Level Converter: As You Like It
Talk about flexibility: the Behringer read more DSP1100P Shark sports line-level servo-balanced inputs and outputs (XLR and 1/4" phone), which can be switched to mic level at the touch of a button. Thus, the device can be inserted into your console's aux loop, between console and power amplifier or between microphone and console. The DSP1100P Shark's adjustable mic preamp with switchable +48 V phantom power and Ultra- Low Noise technology guarantees noise-free, ultra-musical sound. You can choose professional studio (+4 dB) or microphone output level, so that the Shark can even be directly connected to the mic input of your portable DAT recorder. Virtually anything can be connected and converted.

Automatic Noise Gate, High-Pass Filter, and Compressor: It's All Yours
The Behringer DSP1100P Shark's fully automatic noise gate with its "Learn" mode not only suppresses noise during silent passages, but also prevents resonance build-up with complex signals like acoustic instruments, and gives you the option to set the threshold manually. The subsonic filter with its freely adjustable cutoff frequency eliminates difficult low-frequency disturbances. The compressor offers effective signal density enhancement and overload protection with only 2 parameters: Density and Speed. It doesn't get much easier. The best is just good enough for you? No problem. The DSP110 Shark is constructed using selected high-quality components. 24-bit A/D and D/A converters guarantee optimal audio quality. And a high-power 24-bit DSP from Texas Instruments handles the internal processing.

We Make Sure You See Everything
In spite of its compact dimensions, the Behringer DSP1100P Shark offers maximum transparency of operation. A 6-segment LED chain with clipping indicator displays the internal level. 12 further LED's indicate filter status, and a 4-digit multi-functional display assists in setting delay times, noise gate threshold, compression ratio, and subsonic filter cutoff frequency.

Whether as a Stand-alone Device or as a "Five Pack" in your Rack, Behringer's Shark DSP110 Will Soon be a Partner You Won't Want To Do Without - On Any Stage in the World!

"budget solution for your stage mic"

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
for now its good. I would like to have higher grade preamp like summit audio 2ba 221 or safe sound p1, but can not afford them at the moment. I' ve learned to live with the shark. it fits nicely in my laptop bag together with the wireless set and cables.

Sound
it is very hard to find the sweet spot, but I've found it with a lot of trial/error. the manual is not very instructive. they have to show some examples, or some starting point. I use it with my wirelles shure sm86 handheld mic for live performance.I turn the mic gain at two o' clock(watch the leds), low cut at 90 hz,gate at 60-70, compressor at 15/100,and the filter at auto 25/6. that way it works.from the shark to line input in the mixer. the sound is full, open and punchy. it projects easily through the mix but lacks warmth or smoothness. different settings are not good or distort. before I also used behringer's mic100 tube preamp. while warmer, it made a lot of noice and feedback and muffled the tone. the shark is cleaner and cuts the mix like a real shark in the water :)

Features
nice features, I use all but the delay.low cut is very useful, the compressor is very mysterious,I dont get the concept of "density",and the speed is not clear - is this atack, reliese or a combo?!? but I found my setting: 15 for density and 100 for speed. the filter affects the sound a lot if you push it hard.it loses sparkle. I leave it at very subtle setting 25/6,and take care read more of moving with the mic. I would appreciate if behringer offer similar suisse knife product in car radio size with some tube(warming) emulation and some analog delay, for singers on the move. it would be bestseller.

Ease of Use
relatively easy to learn it, but not easy to get good sound. the manual does not tell you how to set the device. it only explains the features.this product is not for ingeneers only, so they have to give some guidance for customers.

Quality
no complaint. it feels sturdy,is very small, fits everywhere. the power input seems to be most vulnerable, but I take care when I connect it.

Value
of course.

Manufacturer Support
I needed some answers about how to use the device. sent the questions on their site and recieved prompt answer.

The Wow Factor
it's a nice little device.
