Right out of the box, I was very impressed with the quality of finish both on the body and neck. The guitar was beautiful as I inspected it for flaws to my surpriss I found none in finish. The frets on the neck did feel alittle sharp and it did have a little string buzz on the lower E. The buzz adjusted out with the allen wreches provided, 15 seconds of labor, the action was set perfect. So I plugged it in and gave it a work out. The Duncan Design Pickups sounded great and volume and both tone comtrols worked well with no crackling very clean. The two single pickup where set well to provide a good deviation of sounds but hang on when you go to position one full humbucker the volume really jumps up to a new game one the court. Don't miss understand the single work very well but the Humbuckers does exactlly what its suppose to. Heres the funny part I bought this as a present for a birthday well I kept this guitar did a very little fret work and now play it daily. I have played Fenders American Strat HHS and frankly this is every bit as good, and the finish better from the ones I looked at to compare recently. If I decide to up grade the pickup and pots this guitar is still a steal.
